Happy Annual Meeting Season!
The Christmas trimmings are put away just in time for the hustle and bustle of gathering reports, finalizing budgets, communicating mission with vision, and planning ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETINGS! Thanks to all who turn their attention now to these details...annual meetings are important and often bring a bit of stress for those on council as well as for pastors and deacons too.
As you prepare, I want to share a few tools to add to your congregational meeting agenda or as information for the congregation as you move into the new year. These tools tell the story of how together we share the Good News of God through Jesus Christ by the Power of the Holy Spirit through your congregation, our synod, our church, and to the ends of the earth:
the Southeastern Iowa Synod 2025 Annual Report
share the full report
share the bulletin insert
use the presentation at your annual meeting
use these tools in adult ed, church council, …
What Does My Offering Do
After your annual meeting, please remember to:
Complete your Mission Support Intent Form
Complete your Congregation’s Annual Form A Report
Complete your Rostered Minister Annual Report
Send the names and emails of your newly elected council president, treasurer, and secretary to fash@seiasynod.org
Communicate with your Synod Assembly Voting Members: Synod Assembly May 15-16 at First Lutheran, Cedar Rapids. Registration opens February 1.
For those of you, planning and leading, thank you for every detail.
For those of you seeing the congregational meeting announcements, I encourage you to attend your congregation’s annual meeting and to share your appreciation with those who are planning and leading. These meetings may seem tedious or boring on the surface, yet, they provide the way for your congregation to live out your call as a community of faith: living among God’s people, hearing the Word, sharing in the Supper, proclaiming the Gospel, serving others, and striving for justice and peace in all the world.
With gratitude,
Bishop Amy L. Current
