From Tanzania to Iowa: Israel Mockray’s Journey with our Synod Community

From July through September 2025, the Southeastern Iowa Synod welcomed Israel Mockray from the Mwanga Diocese, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. Throughout his time with us, Israel immersed himself in the vibrant life of our synod through EWALU Bible Camp and congregational visits. As Israel has now returned home safely, we invited him to reflect on his recent visit.
