Now is the Time Study

Now Is The Time Study - Bishop Current and Marissa Kolander invite you to join them for the ELCA "Now Is The Time Study". We will meet via Zoom on Thursdays, November 2, 9, 16, 30, and December 7 from 6:30 -8:00 pm.

In 2019, the ELCA Churchwide Assembly issued a declaration to people of African descent. This declaration focused on the church's role and failures historically around slavery and racism. Now is the Time is a study surrounding the impact of slavery and racism on our church and stresses self-examination and realism around these issues.

These five 1.5-hour sessions will include self-study, reading, video lessons, large-group learning, and small-group reflection.

All are welcome to join this study you do not need to be in leadership in your congregation or have any background in these topics. Participants should try to attend all five sessions as the curriculum and discussion build from week to week. Participants in the same household or congregation will be placed in small groups together, sign up with a friend or family!
