20/20 Vision Goals
20/20 Vision goals, funding and supported ministries
Goal
The Southeastern Iowa Synod has responded to this exciting challenge with the 20/20 Vision Outreach Program. 20/20 Vision has the central purpose of providing resources for the development of 20 new ministries over the first 20 years of this new millennium. Some of the 20 new ministries may be developed in other synods of the ELCA or in the Pare Diocese, our companion synod in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania.
Funding
Sponsorship of a new ministry typically will require approximately $175,000. Providing these funds will require support from a variety of sources, such as congregations, conferences, and individual members.
2008 Vision Offering Appeal
Your congregation is invited to join others in our Synod in observing Rogate Sunday, April 20, as 20/20 Vision Sunday, and to receive a special offering for 20/20 Vision as a tribute to Bishop Philip L. Hougen, who will be retiring later this year.
