This year’s Southeastern Iowa Synod Assembly will be held at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Coralville (319-688-4000).

Information sessions for voting members were held at four locations throughout the Southeastern Iowa Synod recently. Those sessions included a litany requesting the presence of the Holy Spirit, Bible readings, information about election processes and, finally, discussion; 20 – 25 people attended each session. The main resource used during the presentation was Choosing a Bishop: Questions to Assist in Preparation. Responding to a request at the session at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, a summary of the input was gathered during the discussion portion of the session. The attendees were asked to list: 1) helpful qualities of a bishop, 2) current needs of our synod, and 3) questions that might be asked of candidates. Click here to view that listing.

Complimentary parking is available for people staying at the Marriott. All others will have to pay for parking. The daily maximum is $8.00.
In accordance with S7.51.04 of the synod constitution, the deadline for resolutions was March 4, 2008. All attendees to the synod assembly must register. Meals are included in the registration fee. We encourage all assembly participants to sign up for e-mail updates through the synod’s Constant Contact e-mail system.
