Shoulder-to-Shoulder 2006
 | June 2006 - Through a generous grant provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, youth and young adults spent part of their summer immersed in a "Shoulder-to-Shoulder" learning opportunity with youth members from Salam Arabic Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, New York. Salam Lutheran was one of the churches greatly affected by the events of September 11, 2001. |
Gonja Lutheran Hospital

Mary and Leah worked at the hospital for six weeks building relationships and prioritizing needs for a medical supply shipment. Mary and Leah remarked, "...we doubted anything we could do would change a thing. Instead of changing lives, our lives were changed..." |
Synod Assembly 2003

It took at least two trips to deliver the donated supplies to the social service agency's campus.
