Cherish Our Children
- Equip the saints for action through awareness of this social evil.
- Find out what exploitation is happening in your community.
- Prevent the exploitation of youth through education.
- Address the demand for the system of sexual exploitation.
- Support social agencies that work with exploited youth and adults.
Cherish Our Children seeks to have congregations develop greater awareness of young people and their needs, have congregations be more intentional about care of and support for young people, encourage people of all ages become better equipped to detect and safely address recruitment, and to create a large cadre of people of faith leading the effort to dismantle the system of sexual exploitation. Cherish Our Children is deeply grateful to the Lutheran Services for Children Endowment for major funding to support the start-up and expansion of this ministry.
The Southeastern Iowa Synod Task Force for Cherish Our Children has created a three-year plan called the "CAP (Cherish, Advocate, and Protect) Campaign" as next steps for our synod in the Cherish Our Children Ministry. Each year will emphasis a specific topic. Please view the brochure for details on the campaign.
